About Brenda

There are no words to adequately describe Brenda’s greatness and angelic heart and soul. In so many ways she exemplified the meaning of Love and Life. To those who knew her, she was a constant inspiration and role model. Even in sickness, Brenda always put the well being and needs of others before her own.
I find it very difficult to sufficiently describe my beautiful wife. In October 2003, three months before she passed away, I wrote a letter to Oprah. Although writing a letter was uncharacteristic of me, I felt the need to share her zest for life and hope with the world. Even as her husband, I was awe inspired by her faith and outlook on life and living. Brenda’s love for children was reflected in her desire to one day share with them, our story, our love, and our passion for life, with the hope of inspiring their journey through life. Although it is not the way we envisioned it, I have been fortunate enough to talk to groups of children and young adults, as Brenda’s voice. I always begin my talks by reading the letter. Please read it as it reflects our journey and who Brenda was and is.

Amidst the struggle of physically living without Brenda, we all remember her, the lessons she taught us, and the strong love she bequeath to us. To those who knew her, she will live on forever in their hearts, and her goodness will be passed on through their actions.
God’s greatest gift to me, is loving Brenda, being loved by Brenda, and being her husband.
Thank you for supporting our cause, and continuing to honour Brenda’s memory.
With love and appreciation,
Brenda’s husband - Aubrey
